Simge joined the CLS in September 2016 to work as a research assistant. Currently she works on a project investigating space-pitch associations in Turkish and Dutch children. The aim of the project is to assess when and how children acquire linguistic space-pitch metaphors in their respective languages.
Simge completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Yeditepe University, in Istanbul, continued her studies through MSc in Applied Neuropsychology at University of Bristol,in the UK (2015). Her research interests include but not limited to: the role of language in cross-modal mappings, and neural underpinnings of space-pitch associations.
