The Evolution of Semantic Systems project, EoSS, will hold a Consortium Workshop on Romance Languages and Friends, November 28 – December 1 in Paris. EoSS is a research initiative of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and Radboud University, which surveys meanings across more than 50 Indo-European languages to study how these meanings vary over space and change over time. This consortium workshop will bring together EoSS collaborators from the romance languages and their neighbours, including Basque, Greek, Albanian, and Celtic languages, in order to gain a comparative perspective on words and meanings across these groups. Asifa Majid, Alex Carstensen, and EoSS consortium members Benjamin Fagard and Anetta Kopecka will host the event at the Maison de la Recherche in Paris.
